New Research Presented at BriSCEV

The Multifocal LED Stimulator developed by Tennent Institute of Ophthalmology in Glasgow has given access to unique results in the field of electrophysiology of vision.

Until now, research in to the clinical applications of Multifocal ERG have focussed on spatial as opposed to temporal aspects of stimulation dues to limitations of current methods of stimulation.

Researchers at the Tennent Institute of Ophthalmology in Glasgow have developed a second generation LED stimulator for Multifocal ERG which allows high resolution temporal control of the stimulus. The stimulator was on display at Briscev 2011 in Newcastle.

Early trials have given exciting and suprising results.

It is hoped that this improved understanding of temporal aspects of retinal function may allow development of Multifocal ERG protocols tailored to investigate specific disease states.

The new stimulator is designed to be a standard for Multifocal ERG stimulation.
